Animal Hospital (Anomaly) Guide — Every Anomaly Channel, Explained

Animal Hospital is the anomaly-horror game that turned the Roblox genre from a doorbell simulator into a full workplace. You are the night-shift receptionist at a veterinary hospital: register injured animal patients, give the correct medication, survive the emergencies — and screen out the things pretending to be patients. This independent guide covers the current numbers, how each anomaly channel works, and what to do when one gets inside. We are not affiliated with Roblox or the creators.

What Is Animal Hospital (Anomaly)?

Animal Hospital is a survival-horror experience on Roblox created as a collaboration between Roytt (verified creator) and the other developers of the Animal Anomaly community. Per the Roblox Wiki, it was directly inspired by Scary Shawarma Kiosk and Dandy's World. It launched on May 10, 2026 and became one of the fastest-growing games on the platform.

Current status as of early August 2026:

  • ~1.6 billion plays (Roblox Wiki lists it among the experiences above one billion visits)
  • ~286K concurrent players at peak — currently one of the biggest games on Roblox, not just in horror
  • Launch: May 10, 2026
  • Creator: Roytt & the Animal Anomaly team

The core loop: patients arrive at reception, you register them and treat them with the correct medication — some routes go through operating rooms where speed matters. Emergencies happen mid-shift: patients faint, catch fire, or worse. Fail to contain anomalies and the hospital spawns death rituals, mimics, and hunters. A Sanity meter governs how much horror you can eat before the shift collapses.

The Four Anomaly Channels

Animal Hospital is deeper than most anomaly games because the check is not one camera — it is four separate evidence layers. Every anomaly below is cataloged with its tell and the correct response. Status note: this catalog comes from one professional source (Rock Paper Shotgun's guide), so we mark these 🟡 community-reported rather than ✅ triple-verified. The Roblox Wiki confirms the same shutter-and-tase framework.

Counter anomalies — spotted at reception (8)

The patient stands at your desk; something about them is already wrong. All eight are resolved the same way: close the shutters.

  1. Twitching — violent, unnaturally fast twitches between normal poses.
  2. Three eyes — exactly what it says; glowing.
  3. Sharp teeth — menacing grin, lopsided googly eyes.
  4. Clenched teeth — human-like gritted teeth, tiny wide-open eyes.
  5. Sinister smile — hand-drawn-looking eyes and smile.
  6. Hollow face — jet-black empty eyes and mouth.
  7. Stalker check-in — the Stalker itself tries to register; take its picture instead of the shutter.
  8. Tiny Anomaly — so small it cannot see over the counter.

CCTV anomalies — unlocked after your first shift (5)

The patient looks normal at the desk; the cameras disagree. All five: close the shutters.

  1. Unnatural body — stretched limbs visible only on camera.
  2. Camera watcher — stares straight into the security camera.
  3. Shadow — renders as a pure dark silhouette on the feed.
  4. Redacted box — a censored black box over the model, eyes visible inside.
  5. Skinwalker — normal at the counter, wide-mouthed monster on camera. Let one in and it can transform later (see hazards).

Photo anomalies — caught in the polaroid (4)

Check-in requires a polaroid of every patient; the developing photo is a second screening pass. All four: close the shutters.

  1. Static — the photo develops into pure noise.
  2. Wrong eyes or ears — subtle mismatch between patient and portrait.
  3. Mismatching polaroid — the photo shows a completely different model, or a grotesque version of the same one.
  4. Cursed photo — blurred with a horrific expression; picking it up costs Sanity, so spot it on the desk first.

Hazard anomalies — inside the hospital (14)

These spawn regardless of your door record; each has its own counter.

  1. Mass of eyes — flesh blob on the ceiling; offer eye drops, or avoid eye contact until the shift ends.
  2. Hiders — camouflaged except eyes and smile; run back to the lobby, or tase/shoot.
  3. Skinwalker (loose) — tase or gun; bare fists in a pinch.
  4. Bed Monster — hands sticking out from under a bed inside a marked red zone; walk around it.
  5. Stalker — do not look at it; looking drains Sanity.
  6. Camera Anomaly — cat-like entity on broken cameras; exit the camera screen fast.
  7. Head Banger — hollow-eyed figure slamming the reception window; bring coffee and ask it to leave.
  8. Tendril — purple tentacles from a post-surgery patient; finish the surgery successfully.
  9. Slime — green floor growth; fire extinguisher.
  10. Fire — empty rooms ignite; fire extinguisher.
  11. Ghosts — spawn when you fail to save a patient; tase or gun.
  12. Fake patient — a Skinwalker disguised as an emergency surgery case; tase.
  13. Death rituals — levitating patient ringed by candles; extinguish every candle with coffee.
  14. Slimebert — roaming blob on Toxic Shifts; stun with the extinguisher, escape its grab with Cough Syrup, and survive until it leaves.

How Animal Hospital Relates to Home Alone (Anomaly)

The two games are the same genre, different pressure model. Home Alone (Anomaly) gives you one door and many tools — cameras, room checks, voice tells — against 22 visitor types. Animal Hospital gives you one counter and many jobs: treatment and surgery run in parallel with anomaly screening, so the horror comes from divided attention rather than pure deduction. The Roblox Wiki's lineage note (Shawarma Kiosk → Animal Hospital) is the cleanest way to see it: each hit raised the mechanical ceiling for the next one. If you main one, the other is a natural next pick.

Tips

  • Screens before meds. A wrong diagnosis costs a patient; a missed Skinwalker costs the shift.
  • Use the polaroid as a cooldown. Developing time is free scanning time — watch the image, not the desk.
  • Memorize the hazard counters by tool: extinguisher (slime, fire, Slimebert stuns), coffee (Head Banger, candles), taser/gun (Skinwalkers, ghosts, Hiders).
  • Don't look at the Stalker. Sanity is the real health bar.

FAQs

Is Animal Hospital scarier than Home Alone? It depends on what scares you: Animal Hospital has more sustained dread and more jumpscares; Home Alone is tenser per decision. Both carry Roblox-style horror content.

Can you play with friends? Yes — multiplayer shifts are a big part of why it holds ~286K CCU; communication on camera duty is the meta.

Where do codes fit in? Codes are a separate, fast-moving topic; we are not publishing a codes list here until there is something verified to list.

Bottom Line

Animal Hospital proved the anomaly formula can scale from a single doorstep to a full simulation, and its numbers say the genre's ceiling is far higher than anyone expected in May.
